Carmarthenshire calls itself The garden of Wales and is home to both the National Botanic Garden of Wales with its Great Glasshouse as its centrepiece and the 20km long Llanelli Millennium Coastal Park which includes a wetland habitat, woodlands, watersports facilities, cycleways and footpaths. There is also Pembury Country Park which mixes beach activities with a ski slope, toboggan run and a motor racing circuit. In additional to formal parks and gardens, Carmarthenshire is also home to Aberglasney - a 16th/17th century garden now restored and the subject of a major TV series.
Historical moments abound in the county with castles at Camarthen, Carreg Cennen, Kidwelly, Laugharne, Llandovery, Llansteffan and Newcastle Emelyn and the large Iron Age fort at Garn Goch. Cenarth is home to the National Coracle Centre and Wales' industrial heritage is celebrated at at Kidwelly Industrial Park and the Gwili Railway offers a taste of the Welsh branch line.
