The bays and beaches that surround the Gower peninsula enclose an area of open moorland on which cattle and horses graze freely. These also support a rich and wide range of flora and fauna and offer wonderful walking for the more energetic.
The area also has a number of historic castles, notably Woebly in the north and Oxwich, Pennard and Oystermouth in the south.
